Twin-Stick Shooter Templates
Create twin-stick shooter games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.
A twin-stick shooter splits the job in two: one stick moves you, the other aims, so you can run one way while firing another. That independence is the whole appeal. It turns a firefight into a dance of dodging and weaving through bullets while keeping your fire trained on the swarm closing in around you.
A template gives you that loop running: a top-down character with dual-axis movement and aiming, a shooting system, enemies that pour in from the edges, and a health and score loop. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you build on it by describing it: ask for a spread weapon, a dash with a cooldown, enemies that split when killed, or a wave counter, and the AI edits the movement and spawners with you while you play to feel the flow of the swarm.
