Tactical Shooter Templates

Create tactical shooter games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.

A tactical shooter slows the gunplay down and makes every shot count. Damage is high, mistakes are punishing, and the game becomes about positioning, communication, and committing to an angle with a plan rather than a reflex. The tension comes from how quickly a round can end when you step out of cover at the wrong time.

A template gives you that framework: a grounded shooter controller, lethal hitscan or ballistics, cover and lean, enemies or AI that hold angles, and a round-based win condition. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you tune the realism by describing it: ask for weapon recoil that punishes spray, a defuse objective, enemies that push together, or limited respawns, and the AI wires the combat and round logic with you while you play to keep it tense and fair.
