Refund Policy
The short version
- Credits that you have used are not refundable. The AI work is done and paid for.
- A purchase you have not used at all can be withdrawn within 14 days.
- You can cancel a subscription at any time. It runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- If Summer Engine failed, write to founders@summerengine.com first. We read the logs and put the credit back.
The sections below say the same thing with the detail that a bank, a lawyer, or a careful reader needs.

Applies to: purchases of Summer Engine subscription plans and credit top-ups from Summer Engine ApS
1. What you buy
Summer Engine sells two things:
- A subscription plan. A plan gives you an amount of AI usage each billing period.
- A credit top-up. A top-up is a prepaid amount of AI usage.
Both are digital services. You spend them on AI work: model calls, image generation, 3D generation, audio, video, and code. There is nothing physical to ship and nothing to return.
2. When the service is performed
The service is performed the moment you use it. Each AI operation calls a paid model provider, costs us money at that moment, and gives you the result immediately.
When you buy, you ask us to start the service immediately, and you accept that the 14-day right of withdrawal is lost for that purchase once performance begins.
Danish law allows this for digital services. The rules come from EU Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented in the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (forbrugeraftaleloven). We show you this policy before you pay, so the consent is informed.
3. Credits you have used
Credits that you have used are not refundable.
The output belongs to you, the provider cost is already paid, and the work cannot be given back. This applies to credits from a top-up and to credits included in a plan.
Credits are consumed by each AI action according to the work it does, whatever the result, and they are not restored when you dislike the output, regenerate it, or throw the result away.
Credits have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for money.
A failed operation is not the same as a result you did not want. If our system failed, see section 6.
4. The 14-day right of withdrawal
You can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days only if you have not used what it paid for, because once you use it, performance has begun with your express consent and the right of withdrawal is lost for that purchase.
The same rule covers a credit top-up and a paid plan. Spending any credit from a top-up begins performance of that top-up. Using the product on a plan you paid for begins performance of that plan payment.
To use the right:
- Send your withdrawal notice to founders@summerengine.com from the email address on the account, within 14 days of the purchase.
- Tell us which purchase you mean. Your email address is enough for us to find it.
- We pay a valid withdrawal back to the original payment method within 14 days of your notice, as Danish law requires.
You do not have to give a reason.
Refund and withdrawal requests must come to us first, at founders@summerengine.com, and not through your bank.
The right of withdrawal is for customers who buy in good faith, and repeated buy-and-withdraw cycles are account abuse that lets us close the account under our Terms.
5. Subscriptions
You can cancel a subscription at any time. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period that you have paid for, and we do not refund a part of a period that has started.
- You cancel from the billing page in the product. You do not have to write to us.
- You keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Plan credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.
- There is no cancellation fee.
A plan starts the moment you pay for it. We do not refund a period because you used less of it than you planned, and we do not refund a period you have started.
Section 4 applies to a plan payment in the same way it applies to a top-up.
6. If something is broken
Write to us first. Most problems are a bug, and a bug is faster for us to fix than for your bank to investigate.
- Send the details to founders@summerengine.com. Tell us what you did, what happened, and roughly when.
- We read the server logs for your account for that period.
- If our system caused the failure, we put the credit back on your account after we read the logs.
Credit is our remedy, because credit is what the failure consumed. A result you did not want is not a failure, and section 3 covers that case.
This is in addition to your legal remedies in section 9, not instead of them.
7. Chargebacks
Contact founders@summerengine.com before you contact your bank. We answer, and we can return credit directly.
A chargeback that arrives without earlier contact is treated as a payment risk, and we can suspend or close the account and refuse further purchases while the case is open.
A chargeback that succeeds reverses the purchase, so the credits that purchase paid for are removed from the account.
We keep records of account activity, credit use, and support mail. We give these records to the card network when we answer a dispute. The records are factual and include facts that help you as well as facts that help us.
8. Early access
Summer Engine is early software. You see and accept a notice about this in the product when you create a project, and that notice applies together with this policy.
Early access is a reason to tell us when something breaks. It is not a reason for us to keep money for work that our system failed to do, and it does not remove the rights in section 9.
9. Your legal rights
This policy does not reduce your mandatory rights under Danish and EU consumer law.
If a digital service that we sell you does not match what we promised, you keep every remedy that the law gives you. If any sentence in this policy conflicts with a mandatory rule, the mandatory rule wins and the rest of this policy still applies.
If we cannot agree, you can bring a complaint to Center for Klageløsning at Nævnenes Hus (naevneneshus.dk).
10. Governing law
Danish law governs this policy.
Summer Engine ApS is a Danish company. Our Terms of Service at https://www.summerengine.com/terms apply together with this policy. Where the two differ on refunds, this policy is the more specific one and it applies.
