Psychological Horror Templates

Create psychological horror games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.

Psychological horror gets under the skin without ever needing a monster. It works through atmosphere, unreliable perception, and a creeping sense that something is wrong, leaving the player to fill the dark with their own dread. The fear is internal, built from suggestion, sound, and the unsettling feeling that the world is not quite trustworthy.

A template gives you the tools to unsettle: a first-person or fixed-camera controller, controllable lighting and shadow, an atmospheric audio system, environmental triggers, and a way to script subtle changes. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you direct the unease by describing it: ask for a room that rearranges when you look away, a whisper that follows you, a hallway that loops, or a light that dims as you approach, and the AI wires the scenes, triggers, and audio with you while you play in the dark to find exactly where the dread takes hold.
