Precision Platformer Templates
Create precision platformer games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.
A precision platformer is movement at the edge of what your fingers can manage. Levels are short, deaths are frequent and instant, and the whole point is a respawn so fast that failure feels like part of the rhythm rather than a punishment. Every jump, dash, and wall-kick has to be exact, and the satisfaction is in finally threading a screen that beat you forty times.
A strong starting point is a controller that is tight, responsive, and predictable: precise jump height, snappy air control, instant restarts, and clear hazards so any death reads as the player's fault, never the engine's. Once that base feels honest, the difficulty comes from level layout, not from fighting the physics.
With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you sharpen that loop by describing it: ask for a tighter coyote-time window, spikes that reset you to the last checkpoint, a dash you can chain off a wall, or a screen full of saw blades, and the AI edits the controller and levels with you while you run the gauntlet of your own build to feel exactly where it gets unfair.
