Endless Runner Templates
Create endless runner games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.
An endless runner is built for one more try. The character moves forward automatically, the world streams by faster and faster, and the player's whole job is to react, jumping, sliding, or switching lanes to dodge what comes. There is no finish line, only a high score and the simple, addictive question of how far you can get.
A strong base auto-runs the character, spawns and recycles obstacles and pickups endlessly, ramps up speed over time, tracks distance or score, and restarts in a single tap. Because the loop is so short, the feel of the controls and the fairness of the obstacle spawning are everything.
With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you tune that loop by describing it: ask for a slide under low obstacles, coins that form a trail, a difficulty that scales with distance, a magnet power-up, or a near-miss bonus, and the AI wires the spawners and scoring with you while you chase your own high score to make sure the ramp stays fair and the runs stay tense.
