Collectathon Platformer Templates

Create collectathon platformer games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.

A collectathon platformer is about the joy of finding and gathering. Worlds are open and full of things to grab, and progress is measured in how much you have collected, with stars, coins, or tokens unlocking new areas. The genre rewards curiosity and exploration as much as platforming skill, and a full counter is its own kind of satisfaction.

A good base gives you a confident platforming character, hub-and-level structure or open zones, plentiful collectibles that track and persist, and gates that open as totals climb. Because the loop is exploration, the strength comes from worlds that are fun to comb through and collectibles placed to reward looking everywhere.

Because Summer Engine is an AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you grow those worlds by describing them: ask for a hidden collectible behind a tricky jump, a counter that unlocks the next zone at a threshold, a special collectible that grants a new move, or an NPC who trades for tokens, and the AI builds the levels, collectibles, and gates with you while you explore your own build to check that the pacing of discovery feels right.
