2D Platformer Templates

The 2D platformer is one of the most enduring forms in games, and it all comes down to the jump. Side-on movement, a satisfying arc, tight collision, and levels that ask the player to read and react are the whole craft. When the controller feels right, even a simple level is fun to move through.

A template gives you that feel already tuned: a side-scrolling character with proper jump physics and air control, solid collision, moving platforms, hazards, and a following camera. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you build on it by describing it: ask for a double jump, a dash, collectibles, an enemy you can stomp, or a checkpoint, and the AI edits the controller and levels with you while you jump through your own build to feel each change.
