Drift Racer Templates

Create drift racer games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.

A drift racer makes the slide the point. Cornering is not about taking the cleanest line but about breaking traction, holding a controlled slide, and scoring on angle, speed, and chained drifts. The genre is equal parts style and control, and a long, linked drift is its own reward whether or not you win the race.

A strong base is a car tuned to break traction and hold a slide, a drift-scoring system based on angle and duration, tracks with corners built for sliding, AI or time targets, and clear feedback on a good drift. The craft is in handling that makes initiating and holding a drift feel skillful and satisfying.

Because Summer Engine is an AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you tune that handling by describing it: ask for a longer slide before grip returns, a score multiplier for chaining drifts, a clutch-kick or handbrake initiation, a course built around hairpins, or a combo meter, and the AI edits the physics, scoring, and tracks with you while you drift your own build to dial the slide until it feels just right.
