Tactical RPG Templates
Create tactical rpg games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.
A tactical RPG fights its battles on a grid where position is everything. You move a party of units across terrain, weigh range and facing and height, and win through smart placement as much as raw stats. Layered on top is the RPG growth: units that level, classes that branch, and gear that changes how a fight plays out.
A template gives you both halves connected: a grid battlefield with unit movement, turn order, attack and ability ranges, character stats and leveling, and enemy AI that takes its turn. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you build on it by describing it: ask for a class with a healing skill, terrain that boosts defense, an enemy that focuses the weakest unit, or a permadeath rule, and the AI wires the grid logic and unit data with you while you fight your own battles to tune the balance.
