Under the desk

Generated from: Cinematic 35mm film still, low camera at floor level inside a pastor's study at night, lit only by a green glass banker's lamp on the desk. A twenty-five year old woman with long dark brown wavy hair, pale skin and faint freckles is wedged on her side in the kneehole beneath a heavy dark wooden desk, shoulders and face turned toward the camera, chin up, looking past the lens with wide frightened eyes, one hand braced flat against the inside panel of the desk. The hem of her dark dress is caught on an open drawer beside her. In the foreground on the right, out of focus, the back of a young man in a white shirt and dark trousers stands over her, one hand resting on the edge of the desktop, his face not visible. Framed black and white portrait on the wall, stacks of paper, a cold mug. Warm pooled lamp light, deep shadow, fine grain, tense, no text.
