v0.5.39 — Summer Cloud, rock-solid terminal, and one-step transparent assets
Highlights
- Summer Cloud is in research preview — try backing up and syncing your projects to the cloud, with a new Cloud dashboard on the web and a Cloud tab in Studio
- Terminal commands are rock-solid now: approvals do not falsely time out, results never get lost on a reload or flaky connection, and you always see exactly what ran
- Generate a transparent-background asset in one step — or strip the background off anything you already made
- Premium mode is sharper and can see your images — it now runs on a faster, vision-capable model with a much larger context window
- Run several projects and windows at once and the AI always reaches the right one
- Ask for a whole world and Summer ships a playable slice first instead of silently churning through hundreds of generations
Changes
Added
- Summer Cloud (research preview): an early look at cloud storage and sync for your projects, with a /dashboard/cloud overview (storage meter, per-project file list) and a new Cloud tab in Studio — it is evolving fast and we would love your feedback
- Summer Cloud in the CLI and MCP (research preview): summer cloud sync commands with restorable versions, pre-apply checkpoints, and conflict handling so your editor can autosync as you build
- One-step transparent images: ask for a transparent background and Summer generates the image and removes the background in a single step, plus a standalone background-removal tool for assets you already have
- Save anything from Studio on the desktop app: images, audio, video, 3D models, and full GLB and ZIP exports now download straight through the native app
- 3D characters generate in a clean T-pose, ready to rig
Improved
- Premium mode handles images natively now — paste a screenshot or mockup and it sees it directly, on a faster model with more headroom for long chats
- Over-scoped requests get honest expectations: ask for a full world (or to clone a AAA game with no mistakes) and Summer builds a playable vertical slice first — one zone, reuse-first — then expands, instead of firing off dozens of generations blind
- Multi-window routing: the desktop-to-chat bridge now routes per window, so edits and imports always land in the project you meant
- You can keep typing in chat while your game is running
- Blocked generations now tell you to rephrase instead of showing a generic error
- Smoother sign-in: your language and where you were headed are preserved through login, signup, and pricing
- Cancellation handling is more accurate — you keep paid access until your billing period actually ends
- The desktop app is lighter on your machine when idle, and stays instant while you are actively working
Fixed
- Terminal approvals no longer time out when you click Run, results survive reloads and flaky connections, and commands never accidentally run twice
- Project rules (.summerrules) load reliably now — when you ask the AI to read them and automatically on project open — including non-English and Unicode content
- Default video generation works again with a refreshed model lineup
- Asset imports auto-retry transient connection hiccups instead of failing the whole turn
- Game templates import cleanly: the editor picks up new project settings, autoloads, and input actions right away, and the play button launches the right scene
- Image-to-3D results no longer get lost when saving
- Fewer unexpected chat errors, and finished answers are no longer mislabeled as cut off (so no needless Continue prompt)
