# Collectathon Templates

Create collectathon games with Summer Engine. Get inspired by templates below, or start from scratch with AI.

A collectathon is built on the simple, durable pull of gathering things. Worlds are studded with items to find, and the joy is in the completionist itch: the percentage ticking up, the hidden corner that finally gives up its reward, the level you return to once you have the ability to reach that last collectible.

A template gives you that loop running: a controllable character, explorable levels seeded with collectibles, a counter that tracks them, gates that open as you collect, and a reward for completion. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you build on it by describing it: ask for a new collectible type, a hidden area behind a count gate, an ability that reaches old collectibles, or a hub that tracks totals, and the AI wires the collectibles and gates with you while you explore your own build to make sure each one feels worth finding.
