# Beat Em Up Templates

A beat em up is the satisfaction of clearing a street full of enemies with your fists. You walk forward through a scrolling stage, take on groups that surround you, chain simple attacks into combos, and grab the occasional weapon or snack to push through. It is built for quick, punchy fun, often shared on a couch.

A template gives you that loop running: a brawler character with combo attacks, enemies that approach and swarm, hit feedback, a health and life system, and a scrolling stage. With Summer Engine, the AI game engine compatible with Godot 4, you build on it by describing it: ask for a grab-and-throw move, a pickup weapon, an enemy that blocks, or a stage boss, and the AI edits the combat and enemy logic with you while you play to keep the punches landing and the crowd readable.
